How to Make Bath Salts

Bath salts are added to the tub as you run your water. The salts add fragrance to the water as well as an intriguing experience to your bath time. When you use them during your bath you are instantly soothing and softening the skin. You’re also providing yourself with relaxation and a great pleasurable experience.

Bath salts can be purchased at most any beauty store, with tons of different brands and scents available. The bath salts are usually very affordable, deepening upon the brand that you are wishing to purchase.  Creating your own bath salts is also possible, and if you enjoy DIY beauty endeavors, this is one not to miss. Not only can you create bath salts to use for your own personal indulgence, you can also create bath salts to give to family and friends, to sell and to provide as gifts for special holidays and events.

If you’d like to make bath salts from the comfort of your home , first you will need to gather the supplies necessary. You need only a few items, and they’re all relatively inexpensive to purchase.  The items that you will need for bath salts creation include:

  • Your favorite essential oils
  • 2 C Sea Salt
  • Glass Jars
  • Spoon
  • Food Coloring
  • 1 T. Baking Soda
  • Sandwich Bags
  • Mixing Bowl
  • 1 C. Epsom Salt

  Once you have all of the supplies, you’re ready to start. Now you need a clean work space and a little bit of time. Mix the baking soda, Epsom salt and sea salt together. Now add 5 to 8 drops of the essential oils of your choosing. Place your mixture inside of the plastic bag. Add a few drops of your favorite color food coloring. Seal the bag and shake it well. You Must continue shaking it until the salts form. This takes only a few minutes of time. Once the salts have formed inside of the plastic bags it is time to transfer them into the glass jars that you have collected.
